Japan National Stadium: Renewed for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics!

The stadium, originally built in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics, has been completely rebuilt.

In anticipation of the roars of excitement that fans will bring to the stadium, it is built to withstand large commotions.

It was also used for the pro soccer league match on New Year’s of 2020.

The stadium can seat around 60,000 people.
As the center of the stadium is open, there is still a sense of openness even when the seats are full.

In the past, the National Stadium has also hosted performances by artists such as Perfume, MAN WITH A MISSION, and L’Arc~en~Ciel.

The wood used to build the stadium was gathered from all prefectures of Japan, and is placed to face the direction of the prefecture it came from.

For example, the wood from Hokkaido is placed towards the North while the wood from Okinawa is placed towards the South.
