Posted on December 14, 2020

Only one stop away from Shinjuku on the Yamanote line is Tokyo’s very own Korea Town; be sure to come with an empty stomach and a full wallet because Shin Okubo is a hot spot for Korean food, KPOP, and Kbeauty!

With so many restaurants lining the streets of Shin Okubo, your first mission is to decide between all the delicious options.

UFO chicken is a hot item, and makes the perfect dish to split with friends. Pick your favorite Korean fried chicken, and dip them in the gooey bowl of cheese in the middle!

Restaurants will typically have a varied menu, so you’re sure to find something that suits your taste. Whether you’re looking to enjoy your own bowl of bibimbap or share a bunch of dishes, you’re sure to leave your meal with a smile⭐

Don’t forget makgeolli or soju to go with your meal! Both drinks come in different flavors, and are sure to pair well with your meal. (TIP: makgeolli and soju can run close to 1000yen at restaurants, but you can also stop by Don Quijiote or one of the Korean markets for bottles at much cheaper prices😜)

Even if you’re just looking for a quick bite, there are plenty of street vendors with snacks that will make you drool! Along with the ever popular bubble tea shops, you’ll also find other delicious snacks like hotteok and gamja-hotdogs. With cheese and potatoes on this Korean-style corn dog, the gamja-hotdog is a meal in and of itself!

And of course, when you think of Korea, you can’t help but think of KPOP! You’re sure to hear KPOP blasting throughout restaurants and be able to spot posters of your favorite groups. Even if you’re not a carat or an ARMY, you’ll still be able to find goods of your bias at the local KPOP goods stores💞
